Was Ballack besonders imponiert: "Leon schaut oft, wo genau er sich positionieren kann. Auch das ist eine Stärke, auf dem Platz genau zu erkennen, wo man gebraucht wird. Das ist auch ein sehr mannschaftsdienlicher Aspekt. Solche Spielertypen sind bei Trainern gefragt."

Echt ein klasse Typ. Hoffe er kann an die starke letzte Saison anknüpfen und sich nochmal steigern. Der wird noch ganz wichtig werden für uns und die Nationalmannschaft. Denke er wird von vielen immer noch etwas unterschätzt.

Laut Bild hat der Verein aus dem Alaba-Drama gelernt und wird in Zukunft schon früher mit Leistungsträgern verhandeln, um ablösefreie Wechsel, wie bei Alaba, zu verhindern. Anfangen will man wohl mit Goretzka, dessen Vertrag noch bis 2022 läuft. Die Verhandlungen sollen schon bald beginnen. Auch mit Süle (bis 2022) und Kimmich (bis 2023) will man verlängern.Auch hier sollen erste Gespräche noch in dieser Saison stattfinden.
